A&M won, the Cardinals won, and, for my mom, OU won.  (Their shellacking of North Texas was a little embarrassing, actually.)  OSU didn't win, but I'm not really a Cowboy, and they played well enough.

Juan Encarnacion's injury and Scott Rolen on the DL do not bode well for playoff prospects, however.

And, on another note, I am very upset that FOX went with Ryan Seacrest instead of Hugh Laurie as an Emmy host.  What the hell?

This is a bit of ATWT fanfiction in response to recent spoilers.

The Cards beat the Astros 7-0, including a nice homer by Duncan.  Didn't really expect Houston to win the day after their Coach was fired.  They used to bug me as a team, mainly because of their dome, their weird center field hill (seriously, that's like having a ski jump on the 10 yard line or something) and Roger Clemens.  Hate Clemens.  But now they're not very good so I dislike them less.  I'm saving it up for the Cubbies.  Oddly, I still like the Brewers, but that might be because of the sausage race.

The Sausage Race

So with Milwaukee's loss to ChiCubs, the Cards are in 2nd place in the NL Central.  I love this pathetic division!!!!

The Cards won today versus the Atlanta Braves, a game that was broadcast on TBS, so I got to watch the game in spite of the fact that Channel 7 in OKC has given up running Fox Sports Midwest in favor of high school football.  ????!?!?  But at least the Cards are thus only one game below 500 and only a few back of the Brewers and the Cubbies.   It would be wild if they managed to get into the playoffs after the start they had this year.  But, hey, a few years back they were loaded for bear on hitting and could not win the NLCS.  Maybe the only way they can win a the World Series is if absolutely nobody thinks they have a chance.

Let's hear it for a REPEAT!!!!

In honor of the announcement that the 2nd X-Files movie might be getting off of the ground - this is the only X-Files fic I've written.  It won a Spooky in 1998.

Title: Banging Your Head Against a RedHaired Brick Wall
Author: Blair Provence
Originally Written: Thu, 1 Jan 1998
Rating:  PG - for language; non graphic
Summary:  Another's candid view of Mulder and Scully, or "An Essay on Why It Sucks To Be The /Other - by Cassidy Neill"
Disclaimer:  Not mine.  Duh.
Author's Notes:  This is my only story in the X-Files fanfic genre, and I decided to try it from a first-person point of view.  The inspiration for this story came from a discussion I had with a friend of mine about the ability of any relationship Mulder or Scully entered into with someone other than each other.  Her contention was that Mulder was too damaged for *any* kind of meaningful relationship, and that Scully could, and should, do much better for herself.  But I contend that their relationship is such that any *other* relationship would suffer for their closeness, i.e. the only thing they aren't getting from each other is sex.

Originally Written: Spring, 1999

Summary: During the spring of senior year, a Cordette finds out more than she bargained for about her friend Cordelia and the weirdness of Sunnydale High.

Author Notes: This story is an anti-Mary Sue - a reactions to all of those

original characters who are stronger than Buffy, smarter than Giles, witchier than Willow and quippier than Xander.

Story Notes: Third season, taking place sometime after The Wish but before The Prom.

Disclaimer: I own nothing, but would like to put Giles on layaway, please.
