Tonight FOX aired the last two new House and Bones for a VERY long while.  I haven't really blogged about the strike, but I'd like to think I'm having the reaction the writers want, which is to be extremely pissed off that my shows won't be on come February if this isn't settled very soon.

It doesn't look like it will be.  We are going to be positively drowning in reality TV, which I CANNOT BRING MYSELF TO WATCH!  (Seriously, I actually cover my eyes and ears - totally visceral reaction.  Can't STAND it!)

Come on studios, part with a few of your gazillions.  After the pace of change in the last decade, how can you possibly argue that the net etc. isn't the future.  Quit being cheapo idiots.

I do think that if the strike does continue through to January, the medium known as daytime soaps will be gone.  I don't watch any of them right now, but that would be sad.

And now, onto tonight's House and Bones...

BONES -  So Booth and Brennan kissed.  It was cute - I love Caroline - but also quite a cheat.  Having them kiss, without WANTING to kiss (or at least admitting it).  Giving Brennan such a noble motivation for it - eyeroll.  I'm not sure if I'm a shipper.  I could see them being quite entertaining with their opposing worldviews even if they were together, but I also don't think I really see the need.

Kind of a fun mystery.  I do wonder why they didn't ask GUILTYSanta where he got the black eye.

I do they should finally explain just what Brennan's role is in law enforcement.  They don't seem to try to justify her participation by needing her unique skills - and can she question people while not officially an officer of any sort?  I can see where the initial setup might have been unnecessarily restrictive for writers, but throw a bone, people.  Maybe the Jeffersonian should have to do it to keep its funding or something.

HOUSE - The ducking selections are over!  Yay!  Wilson got his own little plot!  Yay!  Chase had two actual scenes!  Yay!

PLUSES
The aforementioned Wilson.  Is he a terrible oncologist or is that a plausible misdiagnosis?  I wonder if the man has a case for emotional distress? (which any competent lawyer would twist it into, instead of the weird "I was happier when I was dying" thing)

House admitting (through his actions) that he didn't really want to fire any of them.  Shouldn't get attached, buddy!  And he asked Chase's opinion!

CTB is gone.  I actually liked her in some ways by the end, but if we had to lose one I think she would be the least entertaining on a continuous basis.  We already have Foreman to be our ambitious killjoy.  I think House decided on her when she asked about the game while the patient was so close to death.

House playing Cuddy at the end was a thing of beauty.  It's not just in the real world that you have to have a girl - it's the TV world, too.  I'm glad they had Cuddy trying to play him, instead of her really wanting him not to hire any women.  That's a little too WIMMEN ARE BITCHES to one another for my taste.

MINUSES - Wilson, stop with the psychoanalysis.  (I did like that his final deep thought was such a fortune cookie.)

Shut up, Foreman!  You're not even a little entertaining anymore.  If you're so concerned about the medicine, DO some of the medicine.
